Riding Bicycles: Sometimes it's About the Journey

posted on 3 August 2012

Driving places is certainly the easiest way of getting from point A to point B. It's comfortable, air-conditioned and you can listen to your favorite radio station. However, the easiest way is always the best way. I like to ride my bike for fun and also for transportation. Riding a bike is not only more environmentally friendly, but it also is the healthier choice. I always find it hard to get myself to the gym, but riding my bike through the park, along the river or anywhere makes staying in shape much easier. I get to see the scenery and clear my mind it's almost like a meditative experience. On the other hand, I often find myself getting stressed while driving a car. Getting stuck in traffic is terrible and it seems like other drivers have a death wish the way the cut me off. In my experience, it is important that if you do decide to bike, you make sure it will be a good and comfortable experience - and in my opinion, you can't beat bmw cycles for comfort. For me, it also meant buying a seat that doesn't hurt my manhood! Make sure your seat is at a proper height and that you bring water. Happy Riding!

Berkshire Photographer Got Me Into My Hobby

posted on 1 February 2012

My Berkshire photographer got me into my photography hobby. It's been a revelation since I picked up my camera and decided to go out and take nature shots. There's so much to consider - the position of the sun, the distance your object is from your camera, the focus, the aperture - it allows for so much creativity - much more than I had realised. I love taking photos in that "magic hour" the hour before sunset. There's so many ways to use the sun - even using a bit of lens flare which used to be seen as a "mistake", but now is rather fashionable to include in the shot. The best thing about photography is that there's no risk now we are in the digital era. You can just snap away to your heart's content and edit out the photos you don't want. I probably delete 50 photos for every one I keep.
