Baby Powder: Aromatherapy for New Parents

posted on 13 September 2012

It is not big secret babies can be tiring, and sometimes a bit smelly. But the smell of a freshly bathed babe can provide aromatherapy like no other. Consider a day with a fussy baby: you are tired, you are hungry, and you are considering throwing the baby out with the bath water. You have changed countless dirty diapers the pungent odor has taken up permanent residence in your nostrils. As the day winds down, it is time to give your little bundle of joy their final bath of the day and hopefully put them in their crib for the night. Baby senses a long brutal day is about to come to a peaceful close. After a nice warm bath, a healthy dose of baby lotion, baby powder, a clean diaper, and a nice clean warm sleeper, baby nestles down in your arms for the last bottle of the day. As you get comfortable in your favorite rocker, baby in arms, you get a whiff of the scent of a freshly bathed baby. The smell of baby powder will melt away all ugly memories of the day, and make you remember why you had this baby in the first place. Never mind rubbing aloe vera seaweed gel on your skin like more regular aromatherapy, I believe baby powder is aromatherapy for new parents.
